I found an empty house with a pomegranate tree in the back! There's plenty of ripe ones already, I filled a huge bag with 'em. The house has been empty for just about ages, and I've never even seen a for sale sign, so I've got full access. And my dad got a whole lamb from God knows where, looks like I won't be cooking vegan for a month. D:
I was thinking pomegranates would be good as some kind of a sauce to serve with the lamb.. gah, I have such a hard time cooking meat. Maybe I could juice some? Like, put it in the blender and strain it? Pomegranate juice is so expensive in stores! Oh, and I can make pomegranate salsa! I've got some mango, that'd be killer! Course, I plan on eating most of them straight outta the peel :) but hey, this tree is
huge.
Ugh, now to find some lamb recipes. Well, I ate lots of lamb in Greece (yes, they really will feed vegetarians lamb) and it was super delicious. Slouvaiki is pretty simple - roasted and skewered with a little garlic, olive oil, rosemary, some lemon squeezed on....shouldn't be too bad! Lots of pomegranates in Greece, too, I wish I was there now. Such a great country, I remember crying because I couldn't take all the stray kitties with me. There's cats everywhere - no wonder Greece has one Hetalia! The best places are on the little islands, where you can stand on the docks watching the fishermen load up and the little white jellyfish that swim right up there, you can scoop them up in your hat. And the little white-painted houses, and all the doors are blue and wide open, and there's flowers outside every window, a sleeping cat on every stair, and inside is an old housewife who will stop at nothing to stuff all the celicious food she can into you. And everywhere you look, there's the sea. Oh man ♥ [/tangent]
Something about posting with dial-up makes my entries long. I mean, it's not like I'm a hurry :P
